Apartment market on top over houses under hammer

For the first time in awhile, we have seen the apartment market rise above house prices. Under auction, the clearance rate was at 75% last weekend with apartments proving in demand as many are being priced out of the housing market.
Advantage Property Consulting director Frank Valentic said buyers could still get into the unit market at a similar price point to four years ago — while house prices had skyrocketed.
“There are now opportunities to buy at yesterday’s prices almost,” he said.
