Homewares trends for Autumn/Winter 2016
By | 11th May 16

The weather is starting to change and you’re probably starting to think whether you need to swap over to your winter quilts and bring out the bed socks and hot chocolate! We’ve got some great homeware trends for autumn and winter… just to keep you inspired over the cooler months!

Rich textiles: Lush and tactile, word on the street is that adding a textural element to your décor will help inject that warmth and comfort into a home this time of year. You may not be able to re-upholster your chair in dark navy velvet, but try using a large knitted throw rug or cushion to add in those plush elements. See it as a little luxury to get you through the cool nights!

Metallics: We’ve seen copper and now rose gold as strong highlight metallic choices over the last few seasons. They are still presenting themselves from candle holders to tapware, but there has been a slight shift in colouring. Darker, less polished metallics are slowly starting to make way through the design scene – perhaps a flow on from the surge of organic textures and prints available.

Raw cut timber: Natural, organic and earthy are the words we would use to describe the interior Autumn/Winter design trend. The juxtaposition of raw materials with polished marble or metallics is going to stay for a while. Try Weylandts or Aussie Company Mark Tuckey for some inspiration.
