Melbourne's property market had a breather with a lower auction weekend due to the election with only 437 auctions reported. There was a consistent 70% clearance but definitely less run away results and less bidders per auction.

Homes in the inner city suburbs continue to be in strong demand. A modern home in Sutton Street Carlton North sold for $1,615,000, which was $115,000 above reserve with four bidders pushing the price well above reserve.

Family homes continue to be in hot demand in Melbournes bayside suburbs as seen at an auction in Cliff Grove Beaumaris. Four bidders pushed the end result to $2,236,000 which was approximately $250,000 over reserve.
