Six bidders compete for Thomastown home

We have seen the recent stamp duty cuts increasing the number of first home buyers bidding at auction in Melbourne's more afforable suburbs.

Our director Frank Valentic recently added his thoughts on this property insight over the weekend saying six bidders who all appeared to be first-timers competed for 1/13 Spring St, Thomastown.  The two-bedroom house on a subdivided block sold for $573,000 with $420,000 as the reserve price.

Mr Valentic said a first-home buyer also picked up a two-bedroom apartment near the Queen Victoria Market at 1/150 Peel St, North Melbourne for $541,000, after it passed in for $530,000 showing that it's important to be the last bidder at auction.
