WATCH: Brant William's Landlord Tips - The Current Conditions of the Rental Market 

Melbourne’s property market continues to lead our nation with the time it takes to sell a property being the fastest of all states. In further good news for sellers and not so good news for buyers, the average time it takes to sell a house has dropped from 35 to 29 days and this is well below the high average of around 50 to 60 days in 2012 when our property market bottomed.

We recently negotiated the purchase of a property for a client in the McKinnon High School Zone and we achieved a great result buying well under our client’s budget before auction.  Though, it can be tough work buying in a popular School Zone as buyers can often pay premiums of 15-25% above other properties. Some of our clients are adopting the strategy of renting in School Zones and buying other investment properties in other areas without paying premium School Zone prices.
