Why we think property is a vehicle to financial freedom

With the rise of various investment streams that people can profit from, we still think property is the king

There’s no doubt that there are numerous ways in which you can create your financial freedom. With the rise of cryptocurrencies and various investment streams that people can profit from, we still think property is the king of investments.

Property is a solid and tested performer

Despite some minor commentary that the market will eventually overturn in Australia, our sector has consistently shown growth year after year. It is important that we look outside of property commentary to supplement any key advice you get from professional property or financial experts. Things like migration, employment rates and growth rates are great indicators on the long term benefits of property investing. There is only finite land after all, so as the population grows with strong economic structures, you can see why we choose property as our investment stream. The game is more stable and long term than shares and we think property is relatively stable in performance when it comes to growth, as long as you purchase the right property.

It’s easy to learn about property investment

Yes there are some technical terms associated with investing and yes, there is legislation and regulations that you need to abide by, but we think understanding property investment is much easier than having to grasp a specialised understanding of shares. Not only are you able to easily manage your investment, it is also a tangible asset which allows you to make informed decisions.

You can control your property value and make improvements to your asset

Renovations, subdivisions and development are all viable options depending on the type of property you invest in. The beauty of property is that you are able to add value where as you can’t do the same in shares. Essentially, you are more in control of the value of your property where as you have relatively low control in a share environment.

You can claim tax benefits

Another added benefit to property is that you can claim investment expenses or depreciation on your investment to bring your tax down each year.

Stability

This is a huge selling point for us. Unlike share markets where fortunes can change within seconds, the property market is more stable purely due to the time it takes to transact. This reduces wild fluctuations in the market as you are more able to forecast downfalls and increases.

At the end of the day, we see that property as an opportunity to live a life of financial freedom. Some of our clients diversify with a range of different assets, but we see a common theme and that is that property plays a part in their portfolio.
