"Valentic’s first call to action to transform the house into a modern abode is to take down the patterned wallpaper and replace with white walls. Also high on the agenda is to rip up the old carpet to reveal the wooden floorboards beneath. “This will immediately lift the whole living area and make it feel more open, light and modern,” he says. “It’s already a good size with stunning details like the cornices on the ceiling – they don’t make them like that anymore.”
