Melbourne’s property market continued its consistent performance with an 85% clearance rate from 358 auctions. This is an improvement on last year’s 83% rate from 471 auctions for the same weekend. Read Melbourne’s auctions results below:

One of the strongest auction results in Melbourne was at 8-10 Maltravers Road, Eaglemont which sold for $3,750,000. The renovated home on a large 1475sq metre block sold well above the $3,300,000 plus quote range and netted the owners a nice profit as they bought it in 1979 for $73,000.

Family homes in Melbourne’s middle suburbs continue to see solid results as we saw with 47 Belford Road, Kew East which sold for $2,220,000. The 3 bedroom home on 650sq metres was pretty original but again close to good schools and was purchased by the owners for only $400,000 in 2010.

Brunswick has come a long way since I bought my first property in Hickford Street in 1995 for $168,000. A modern home at 44 Victoria Grove just sold for $1,990,000 and the 3 bedroom home was quoted at $1,850,000 plus.
