It was another big auction weekend in Melbourne with $810 million dollars’ worth of property auctions with a 81% clearance rate from a large volume of 846 auctions. One of the strongest auction results in Melbourne’s market was 47 Windermere Crescent, Brighton which sold $3,250,000. The 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home on 614sq metres had some good capital gain as it sold for $2,470,000 in 2018.

Renovated period homes continue to see strong interest and bidding. A house at 1 Foch Street, Ormond with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on 637sq metres sold for $3,105,000 with its renovation and pool attracting buyers, pushing it well above the $1,922,000 the owners paid in 2017.

Who would have thought we’d be seeing 9 bidders bid for a townhouse in Reservoir which sold for $831,000 at 1/8 Barton Street, Reservoir. The property attracted buyers because it didn’t have a body corporate and a number of first home buyers battled for the keys although they missed out to an older female purchaser.
