Melbourne’s property market continues its consistent clearance rates of around the 70% mark with a 63% clearance rate from 516 auctions. The same weekend last year the market was stronger with a 84% clearance rate from 688 auctions. Read Melbourne’s auction results below.

Modern townhouses that are spacious and have lifestyle attractions like plunge pools continue to be in strong demand as seen with 6 Trinafour Street, Moonee Ponds. The 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house on 271sq metre small subdivided block sold for $2.6 million.

There continues to be strong demand for modern turnkey properties as the cost of renovation and building have escalated. A house at 28 Diamond Street, Niddrie on 705sq metres sold for $2.97 Million with the 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house having the added attractions of a pool.

Family homes continue to be the strongest segment of the market as families need to move to either upsize or downsize. An updated house at 98 Through Road, Camberwell sold for $2.3 million on 913sq metres. The 4 bedroom 3 bathroom home gave the owners significant capital gain as it sold for $332,000 in 1997.
