Melbourne’s property market passed another super Saturday test with an 82% clearance rate from 1274 auctions. It was a big auction weekend before this week’s quieter Cup Day weekend. One of the strongest results was for 126 Hambleton Street, Middle Park which was a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom renovated home on 348sq metres. The owners lost money as they sold for $4,755,000 when the owners paid $4,800,000 two years ago.

The sub million market continues to see booming results. A unit at 2/387-389 Nepean Highway, Mordialloc sold for $975,000 pushing it well above the $850,000 plus quote and selling for $95,000 over reserve.

Single level units continue to be solid as we’ve seen with the sale of 1/50 Fairview Road, Mount Waverley. The property sold $80,000 over reserve with four bidders pushing it to $1,180,000 as the sellers were wanting to upsize.
