Market Update 2nd September 2024

Melbourne’s property market continued its consistent performance with a 77% clearance rate from 628 auctions. The market had less volume than last year when there were 843 auctions and a 74% clearance rate. Read all Melbourne’s auction results below.

One of the strongest sales for the weekend was the sale of 184 Kooyong Rd in Toorak. The three bedroom, two bathroom home on a good size block of 843m2 sold for $6,400,000.

The outer suburbs are seeing strong demand from first homebuyers as was seen at the auction of 5 Hanley St in Mernda which sold for $726,000. The sale was $46,000 above reserve and sold to a young couple who bid against strong competition from other first homebuyers trying to get into the market.
