First homebuyers continue to dominate the entry level of the market. A first homebuyer was successful, after missing out on six previous auctions, at 13 Beachville Pl in Craigieburn, securing the property for $585,000. They were up against five bidders and the property sold well above the $410,000 plus price quote.

One of the strongest results in Melbourne’s auction market on the weekend was the sale of 22 Hanby St in Brighton. The original four bedroom home on 754m2 sold for $3,125.000.

Modern family homes continue to see strong demand in Melbourne’s middle suburbs. A family home with five bedrooms and three bathrooms and on 768sqm at 8 Elm Court in Templestowe, sold for $3,080,000. The price was well above the $2,500,000 plus quote and resulted in the owners almost doubling their money after purchasing the property six years ago for $1,550,000.
