Melbourne’s property market continues to see improved clearance rates with an 83% clearance rate from 730 reported auctions although there were over 1000 auctions scheduled for a super Saturday weekend. First home buyers continue to be very active at the entry level end of the market as was seen at 40 Kelway Street, Craigieburn which sold for $661,000. The three bedroom house had 10 bidders and went well above the $560,000 plus quote range on 585sqm of land.

One of Melbourne’s strongest auction results was seen at 1 Vincent Street, Glen Iris where the three bedroom, two bathroom property sold for $4,060,000. The updated home on 912sqm went well above the $3,500,000 plus price range.

There was also a strong result a 4 Houston Ave, Strathmore where the three bedroom, two bathroom home sold for $2,230,000, well above the $1,340,000 suburb median. The three bedroom, two bathroom house was nicely renovated and was on a small 585sqm block.
