Market Update - 4th October

The Melbourne real estate market took a break with the AFL Grand Final in Melbourne dominating things. The clearance rate for the week before ended up at 75% from 924 auctions. There was no significant clearance rate for this weekend. This is compared to last year’s Grand Final day where there was an 80% clearance rate from 103 auctions. Blue chip apartments in golden locations like the Botanical Gardens precinct in South Yarra are always in demand. A 3 bedroom apartment in Domain Road, South Yarra sold for $1.265 million which was a strong result.

Single level villa units continue to be in strong demand with a number of different demographic segments. A 2 bedroom villa unit in Napier Street, Mornington sold for $716,000.

Bay views  are widely sought after with many of our Peninsula buyers in Dromana. A house in Clarendon Street, Dromana on a good sized 1012 sqm block with bay views and 4 bedrooms sold for $1.620 million.
