Brant Williams featured: Townhouses and period homes the favourites

The auction clearance rate remains steady at 75.7 per cent, and our buyer's agents reported fast and competitive bidding over the weekend with period houses and townhouses proving popular this spring selling season.

Brant Williams, said five would-be buyers chased after a three-bedroom double-fronted house at 36 Perth Street. which sold to a family for $2.8 million, well above the $2.15 million reserve.

The competition were a mix of  family upsizers and downsizers. Brant said "I think it was an upsizer who bought it in the end, the house last sold for $1,125,000 five years ago prior to being renovated.”
