Get style savvy with our easy interior design tips
If you haven’t heard, Ultra Violet is the Pantone colour of the year. We think we are going to start seeing more deep violet hues on the next series of The Block at the former Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda!
You can easily inject this striking, bold colour quite easily with some imagination and creativity, which is what Ultra Violet encapsulates.
Start with a statement piece
Love the colour but not committed to painting your walls? A statement occasional chair, floor ottoman or velvet scatter cushion would do the trick! This will become a focal point in your room and add that positive contrast to your current décor.
Anchor the room with a bolder choice
If you are a bit bolder in your choice, you will slowly start seeing this shade filter through large wall art and large centrepieces such as a chaise lounge.
Accessories and florals
A great way to incorporate this fun colour is through accessories like vases or vessels and florals. Why not steer away from greens and whites when you are at the market next and pick up some Singapore Orchids or hydrangeas to inject this purple hue.
Our Interior Design predictions for The Block
We cannot wait for the new season of The Block to commence at the old Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda. We see this Pantone Ultra Violet colour playing a role this year, through wallpaper, wall art and accessories. The rich history of The Gatwick hotel and eclectic St Kilda location lends itself to this vibrant shade so we are looking forward to seeing how contestants take on the design trends for the year.
