Design trends buyers are loving at the moment

We love a great design or renovation – it’s inspiring and can also give you come great growth in price if you are looking to sell. So what’s in for 2017? Here’s what we predict will be popular this year and will feature heavily in the next season of The Block.

Dark tonal kitchens – we already saw how this colour scheme can really work in Kate and Will’s kitchen last season and also on Alyssa and Lysandra’s kitchen before that, so if you’re thinking it may date, think again! Team with warm timber for longevity.

Green with envy – Following Pantone’s colour of the year, green is making a huge comeback with furniture and décor this year. If you can’t commit to a large statement piece, try crockery or glassware to bring some emeralds into your home!

  

Cork is making a comeback – Cork walls, cork tiles, cork tables! Cork is a texture that’s making the internet flurry in chit chat. We love cork chairs and side tables as a textural highlight in any style of home. It’s neutral and functional and we predict this trend is here to stay for a while.

 

Terracotta – at first we weren’t sure how to feel about this trend. Unless your home has a Tuscan theme if may be hard to adopt on a large scale, but there are many ways to include this surprising trend this year. Try terracotta pots, a terracotta coloured feature wall or cushions and throws to incorporate this style.  Add some succulents or indoor plants and voila! You have an indoor feature wall that’s not only on trend but beautiful.
